Gracefully, like a dancer spinning and twirling about, the blue balloon floated up, up, up until it hit the ceiling of the dining center.
Everyone stared up at the balloon, oohing and ahhing.
Then, all of a sudden, a second balloon was released into the air. It was a golden balloon this time. Again, everyone stared.
I was driving back from volunteering at Regions Hospital.
There was a homeless man on the corner of the exit, holding up a cardboard sign. Everyone stared…straight ahead. Waiting for the light to turn green.
