when i think of bricks

when i think of bricks, i think of St. Louis, Missouri.

i think of my cousins tommy and summer,

running around my grandparents’ old house.

driving through that town made of bricks –

a brick town instead of a paper town.

when i think of bricks, i think of Bethel.

i just moved out of my little room today

i packed my things and walked out of the brick building

but as i walked away, i realized –

it’s not the brick buildings i’m going to miss.

it’s the people¬†inside them

Prompt: Brick
